Dr. Spadon is the founder of MAPS Lab at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS, Canada, where he is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Computer Science, within the Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning research cluster. He earned his PhD and MSc in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo (USP), São Carlos, Brazil. His research specializes in advanced spatiotemporal modeling and analytics, complex network mining, and time-series forecasting, drawing extensively from data science, data engineering, and geoinformatics to foster innovation.
